Bettter late than never

So I am a little late in posting this...

Jason did an A+ job this year on Valentines day! He definitly brought some extra romance into our relationship!

We had friends from Vegas coming in ON v-day, so we decided to celebrate on Friday the 13th instead. We had a relaxing lazy morning, and around lunch time, Jason brought me a card. Inside their was a little valentine with princesses on it (like the ones you get in school) Inside it said find 6 more. They were hidden through out the house, and each had a letter on it spelling out i l o v e u!
Super sweet! I knew we were going to dinner later that night, and that we had a chiro appointment at 330. In between I thought we'd do a little shopping. lol!
When we get to the chiropractor, their are two little valentines on the check in counter that say to mel. I was totally shocked, I looked around the room and their were several more all around. As I begin collecting the valentines, I notice they each have a letter inside. Ashamedly, it took me way to long to figure out what it said... Water park
I was a little confused, but after our adjsutments, jason took me to a park in Gilbert called Water ranch. They have several fishing ponds, trails, and a park area. It was beautiful, I'd never been beofre and it was quite a treat. We walked around for almost at hour, and then we walked up to this gazebo, and there are MORE valentines!!!

Dinner was lovely and relaxing, it was just a great night out!
We stopped and rented a movie, and then headed home. When I walked in the door, their were MORE valenitines! That spelled out WINE and CHEESE. He'd bought really nice cheese, and we had an unopened bottle we'd been waiting to use!
It was a super romantic evening, one I will never forget! Thank you to my favorite Valentine! You are amazing!

Tis the season for weddings!

We had a very busy Saturday!
To start out, Friday I was kinda sickly. My nose was all stopped up, and my whole body ached! I went to bed super early (8:30) and woke up around 8:30 in the morning. Then we were getting around for an 11am wedding! Mitch and Aimee had a beautiful ceremony! Me being sick (or at least that is the excuse I am using) forgot our camera (so no pics sorry)
It was lovely to visit with friends and acquaintances. Aimee was stunning, and Mitch was sharp!

We had to cut out during the Mother and son dance- to make it to our next wedding which started at 3pm across town.

Marcella and Chris! Marcella serves in the outback with Jason and I. Chris will be serving there too starting next week when they get back from their honeymoon! :)

Her colors were red and blue, and it was gorgeous! The cake had a velvet ribbon around it, with their initials! Just beautiful! Marcella was quite a site in white! (sorry for the rhyme) But her pale skin, and dark hair- really she was beautiful! The vows they exchanged were funny, and personal! I loved it!

All this made Jason and I think about our wedding day! It was such a wonderful day! Jason told me his favorite part of the day (before we made it to the hotel), was our dance. . . when we danced to a MIX of Adam Sandler ' I want to grow old with you' (from the wedding singer- fav movie) and 'I love you' by sanctus real (fav band)

Anyway, most of this was just to say.... Jason, I love you! I Love you so much, and I thank God for you, and our marriage! I look forward to growing old with you!

Progresso

Progresso isn't a very developed city. It is a new port for Carnival after the hurricane season destroyed some of their more popular ports.

Progresso is close to a number of Mayan Ruin sites. The six of us (mom, dad, nathan, heather, jason, and I) all rented a taxi and went to Dzibilchaltun (tzee-BEEL-chahl-toon).

Since we pay extra to get the guided tour... we don't know a whole lot more than we did- I believe the structure above is called 7 dolls. But 4 times a year the the sun lines up directly with that door way in the center of the building and it looks amazing. We missed that by about a week. :(

The other thing wonderful about this particular excavation site is that they found a natural watering hole. On one end it is shallow, mom and I waded in it

The other end is over 100 feet deep, with a tunnel. They have found broken pottery pieces and even bones in this tunnel.

Then the heat got to everyone else and we all jumped in the deep end and cooled off!

We had a lot of fun and enjoyed a family vacation like no other!

Cozumel

Our first port of call was in Cozumel. Jason and I wanted to take an easy day. We ended up shopping downtown with my parents the first part of the day. They had tons of cute little shops and the specialty was jewelry. If you are in the market for diamonds... it would probably be worth the trip down there. If we had more money... lol!

My mom found a bottle of tequila dubbed the Mexican Viagra. :) They got to sample it and I guess it tasted like black licorice. haha- they should have a fun 2009!

We found a little turtle for our collection carved out of bone.

We made it back to the ship for lunch, and then Jason and I found a beach (short taxi ride) they rented snorkeling gear there- and Jason went snorkeling for about two hours straight! I spread out my towel in the beach, and had a lovely margarita!  I tried several times to find Jason out in the ocean... he just kept swimming further and further. Then there were little speed boats zipping by, and I started panicking thinking I was going to have to take my husband home in pieces. But apparently he wasn't even close to the boats!

The great thing about this little excursion was that Jason found a shell for his fish tank. It was a beautiful conch shell in a coral color. He dove down to get it, and stuck it in the pocket of his trunks. When he came up to the beach he was so excited to show me his shell, but when he pulled it out of his pocket he almost dropped it! There was a crab in it! Luckily the crab didn't think Jason's leg was appetizing. 

The other shells in the tank are from Galveston, TX. Jason and I got up early and walked the beach in front of our hotel the morning we left on the cruise. The beach was full of shells. Most of them were broken, but we found a few keepers!

Christmas Cruise

This First picture is of the ruins in Progresso, Mexico- It was really neat to see what was left of their homes, and churches, and town square.
The ruins had a natural body of water, that we took a little dip in! This is a shot of the lilly's growing in the spring.
This is a face and head dress made out of a WATERMELON! Crazy!
While in Cozumel Jason and I found a little beach to go snorkling! We had a blast! I enjoyed the sun and a beverage at the beach and Jason found a couple shells! *( One with a CRAB in it!)
This is a towel Elephant! Jason thought these were too fun not to take photos of! We got a different one most nights!
