Monday I woke up around 6:30 to a cold morning. Shortly after 7 when Jason woke up it had started snowing. And snowing. And snowing. The ground was completely covered by 7:45 when I was leaving for work.
The snow was just flying off the road- it was light powdery- not sticking to the highway at all. I realized I needed gas, so I decided to exit at HH/Fir road in Carthage to fill up.
I was slowing down, and about half way up the off ramp I realized I wasn't stopping. I pumped my breaks and made every effort to avoid an SUV that was going through the intersection. To no avail. I hit the passengers side of their car with the front passenger side of my car (the oldsmobile). I immedietly began praying- please let the baby be ok.
When I got pulled off to the side of the road and couldn't see the other car I freaked out a little bit, I had pushed her off the imbankment- which was at least 2 stories down. She was able to drive down, and avoid rolling her car, PRAISE GOD!
Jason came and took me to the hospital, and the car was towed. (I probably could have walked to the hospital, except it was so cold- blessedly HH is also the hospital exit)
They checked me out, and said they would keep me for 4 hours of observation- to make sure me and the baby were good.
I was having mild contractions, most I couldn't feel. And they were waiting on some test results- I ended up staying for 10 hours to make sure the contractions had subsided and the tests came back negative.
It was a long day- but baby and I are both doing great!
I was a little sore and stiff but I am doing much better!
